Prof U R Rao,former chairman of Physical Research Laboratory (PRL),has been selected for the Hari Om Ashram Senior Scientist Award for 2008. Instituted by the Nadiad-based Hari Om Ashram and administered by PRL,Prof Rao will be presented the award at an investiture ceremony to be held at PRL on its Foundation Day November 11. Prof Rao is known for his pioneering contribution to satellite technology,astronomy and research in space sciences. At present,he is the Chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (Lucknow).
