Since then, a total of 83 video conferencing systems are operational in the state’s jails,” said a statement from the state government.
Statistics from the state government’s Prisons department show that in the first six months of 2024, a total of 40,633 prisoners (29%) had been produced before respective courts through video conferencing by all jails. This figure increased to an average of 41% in the first half of 2025 when 53,672 prisoners were produced before courts.
“The effective implementation of this system has resulted in saving human resources, time and money in the police department.
