Power restored in all districts impacted by Biparjoy

The Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) Limited restored power in all districts affected by Cyclone Biparjoy, despite widescale damage and challenging weather by June 20.

In an official release, GETCO stated Sunday that power supply to all districts, including Porbandar and Devbhumi Dwarka in the Saurashtra region, Kutch district in the Kutch region, and Banaskantha district in adjoining north Gujarat region was restored by June 20 — five days after Biparjoy made landfall on Kutch coast.

In the aftermath of the cyclone, GETCO said, the company deployed 100 teams comprising 2,000 personnel for restoring the power network damaged by the cyclone.

GETCO manages high-tension power lines from which power distribution tap power for distribution among various segments of consumers.
