Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to arrive in Gujarat late night Monday, will hold a roadshow with UAE president Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Tuesday, a day ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS).

The 3-km-long roadshow, which will be held from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport to Indira bridge in the city, will begin in the evening after the PM receives the UAE President at the airport, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-East), Ahmedabad city, Safin Hasan. The UAE president will also be part of VGGS to be inaugurated by Modi on January 10.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Global Trade Show as part of VGGS in Gandhinagar Tuesday.

Hasan said elaborate security arrangements have been put in place ahead of the roadshow and summit. “For the upcoming four days in which the VGGS will be taking place, there will be a lot of VVIP movements for which we have arranged over 500 traffic officers beside the local police. We have also kept additional traffic jawans in places where traffic congestion is expected. Keeping this in mind, I request the people of Ahmedabad to avoid the route of Indira Circle/Airport Circle to Dafnala Circle…” Hasan said.

“Apart from this, the route from Indira Bridge to the airport will be suspended for the roadshow (Tuesday),” he added.

The roadshow is expected to be reminiscent of the ones the PM held along with then Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe in 2017 and later, with US president Donald Trump in February 2020.
