Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made Americans who dance to disco do garba (Gujarati traditional dance form) at the White House, said Gujarat BJP president C R Paatil on Friday.
The Prime Minister, who is on a state visit to the US, was welcomed by a garba performance at the White House.
“Sanmaan to naganya vastu chhe. Sanmaan thi Modi saheb pare chhe. Pan America ma Americano disco karta hata emne White House ma pan Garba karta Modi saheb e kari nakhya chhe. (Respect is a negligible thing (for PM Modi). Modi saheb is beyond respect. But in the US, where Americans do disco, they have been made to do garba even in the White House by Modi Saheb),” Paatil, who was addressing a public gathering as part of the BJP’s month-long programme to mark nine years of the Modi-led government at the Centre, said in the Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad.
Paatil also listed a number of achievements of the Modi-led Union government in the past nine years including open defecation-free India, Clean India, Vande Bharat trains and development of religious places, among others.
The event was attended by Lok Sabha MP from Ahmedabad West Kirit Solanki, current and former BJP MLAs from Ahmedabad and office bearers of BJP Ahmedabad city unit.
