With at least 500 manufactures taking part in the biennial Rajkot Machine Tools Show (RMTS) — starting Wednesday — the organisers are expecting the cumulative value of deals during the expo to cross Rs 800 crore.
Briefing media persons about the 10th RMTS, Yogin Chhaniara, president of Machine Tools Manufacturers’ Association (MTMA), a Rajkot-based chamber which has been organising the expo, said that the number of stalls at the exhibition venue on NSIC Ground near Amul Circle in Rajkot has increased to 500.
“Around 500 manufactures (as against last year’s 400) will exhibit their products. The exhibition area has also increased,” Chhaniara told The Indian Express on the sidelines of the press conference. “The overall area for the event has been expanded to 40,000 sqm with a dedicated cafeteria for exhibitors. It was 30,000 in the previous show. All this indicates the success of RMTS in attracting more exhibitors,” Chhaniara added.

“Successive expos have played a key role in giving Rajkot manufacturers an edge in manufacturing processes,” said Sachin Nagewadia, an MTMA director.
