On Christmas, minority panel writes to cops, seeks action over ‘ruckus’ in schools

Convener of Minority Coordination Committee Gujarat, Mujahid Nafees, in his application to Ahmedabad Police Commissioner has requested for legal action against the anti-social elements who allegedly “forcefully entered a few private schools and vandalised their properties”.

The Minority Coordination Committee Gujarat on Wednesday wrote to the police seeking “legal action” over the alleged ruckus created in a few schools in Ahmedabad during Christmas celebrations.

Convener of Minority Coordination Committee Gujarat, Mujahid Nafees, in his application to Ahmedabad Police Commissioner has requested for legal action against the anti-social elements who allegedly “forcefully entered a few private schools and vandalised their properties”.

“To bring this to your notice is yesterday (Tuesday)’s incident of three schools in east Ahmedabad where anti-social elements entered the schools and damaged the Christmas tree and tore off the posters. They also threatened the employees of these schools to ensure such events are not organised in the future,” the letter stated.  The letter also appealed to the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner “to identify the accused and take legal action”.
