Nobody in party told to keep mum: Faldu

State BJP chief Ranchhod Faldu on Sunday said his party believed in democracy and that nobody in the party was asked to shut their mouth, though he parried questions on the resignation of Sanjay Joshi.

“BJP believes in democracy. Nobody is asked to keep mum on any issue,” Faldu told mediapersons on the sidelines of a day-long workshop of the party’s Doctor Cell of central Gujarat. He was reacting to former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Keshubhai Patel’s recent anti-Narendra Modi statements.

“Narendera Modi government is taking all the parties along in the development process. It believes in inclusive growth and even agencies of the central government are praising the Modi government for its development agenda. Unlike in Congress,if somebody in BJP has a different viewpoint,he has the liberty to express it,” Faldu said.

He,however, refused to answer questions on the resignation of Joshi, which came reportedly under pressure from Modi hours before the party’s national executive meet in Mumbai early this month.
