Chief Minister Narendra Modi,on Sunday,laid the foundation of a radial tyre plant owned by CEAT at Halol near Vadodara with a promise of jobs for 3,000 people following an investment of Rs 800 crore. On the occasion,Modi elaborated on the development of central Gujarat as an automobile hub.
An official release on the eve of Republic Day said a harmonious environment garnered huge capital investments in the state and investors felt their investment was safe and could bring about best results. It may be noted that the 60th Republic Day celebration is taking place in Panchamahals.
Modi said Gujarat has shown the way of tackling the ongoing recessionary trends across the world by converting the crisis into an opportunity. He said Japan partnering the state was a major achievement. He said the automobile sector was bound to emerge as a significant contributor to the huge employment market. The Vibrant Gujarat summit has catapulted the automobile industry on a path of immense growth,he said.
Modi also lauded the spirit of Vanvasi farmers,saying: The tribal farmers have adopted a positive change and are now producing flowers and fruits. I can proudly say the flowers of Panchmahals have the potential to capture Dubai markets. I am confident that through skillful synthesis of appropriate agriculture techniques,we will achieve the aims set under the Vanbandhu welfare package.
State Irrigation Minister Nitin Patel said a high-level canal set to be a lifeline for the Panchmahal farmers would benefit 25,000 farmers of 75 villages of Shahera,Lunavada and Godhra talukas,providing irrigation facilities in 18,000 hectares. The canal would also feed water to 59 village ponds,and flow into the rivers.
RPG Enterprises is investing Rs 2,500 crore in the plant as part of its MoU signed during the recent Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit. RPG Enterprise chairman Harsh Goenka delivered the welcome address. Local MP Bhupendrasinh Solanki,RPG managing director Paras Chaudhri and local MLAs were present at the function.
CM looks to RPG group for Lucky Studio’s revival
VADODARA:Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday sought assistance of RPG Enterprises to revive the Lucky Studio a film studio in Halol.
Modi urged RPG group chairman Harsh Goenka to breathe life into the studio during the foundation laying ceremony of a CEAT tyre manufacturing plant in the run up to the Republic Day celebrations in Panchmahals. In response,Goenka said they would explore the possibility of reviving the studio,where scores of Gujarati movies were shot in the past. The group owns the entertainment company Saregama India Ltd. It was the producer of national award winning film Godmother,which was based on the life of Santok Jadeja from Porbandar.
