The Ahmedabad Crime Branch seized Rs 1.02 crore worth of Mephedrone drug from Sarkhej area of the city on Wednesday night, police said. The police team, on the basis of intelligence, intercepted a van in which the illegal narcotics were being transported from Rajasthan to Gujarat, officers added. An official said that the police had found 984 grams of Mephedrone hidden inside the spare wheel of the four-wheeler, which was in the boot of the vehicle. The officials said that two accused have been arrested in the case. Vishnu Vaadi had transported the drugs from Udaipur, Rajasthan, and was going to hand them over to Asim aka Gotu, resident of Juhapura area of Ahmedabad, when the police nabbed them. Both were booked under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
