Kerosene mixed with diesel,cooperative society members held in Vadodara

A petrol pump owned by a Savli-based cooperative society is now under the scanner following the arrest of its member along with two others by the Vadodara police recently.

According to the police,the accounts of the cooperative society,Sardar Sahakari Mandli,will now be inspected to find out the discrepancies.

The Vadodara district Local Crime Branch (LCB) arrested Gopal Shah on Sunday along with two others on charges of forging documents and constructing a separate tank to mix kerosene with diesel. LCB Inspector J T Rana said an underground kerosene-mixing tank was found at the petrol pump during a raid. “The vigilance squad was the main complainant in the issue. But we will also look into the accounts of the cooperative,” said Rana. The police suspect the scam could run into lakhs of rupees.

The other two arrested are Snehal Pandya,the owner of Shreeji Transport Company and Vasant Shah,a local businessman.

The accused were produced before the Sessions Court on Monday,which sent them to two days remand.
