FIR on illegal mining was filed 3 days ago

RAJKOT: Three days before Amit Jethava,president of the Gir Nature Youth Club,was shot dead in Ahmedabad,the group had exposed illegal mining work going on the periphery of Gir Wildlife Sanctuary located on border with Kodinar town in Junagadh district. An FIR was filed by the Geology Department against nine persons and the police said investigation is on. According to the FIR filed on July 17,the accused were found mining limestone from Alidar area,located within 5 km of Gir Wildlife Sanctuary,where mining is prohibited.

Court rejects CID plea for narco on Vanzara,Dinesh

PALANPUR: The CIDs plea to conduct a narco analysis test on two suspended IPS officers,D G Vanzara and Dinesh M N,arrested in connection with Tulsi Prajapati encounter case,was rejected by a local court here today. CID had sought a narco saying they were not cooperating in investigation.

24 IPS officers transferred

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Home Department today transferred 24 IPS officers and promoted eight of them which include transfer of Navsari SP Paramvir Singh who was heading a SIT inquiring into Naxal menace in South Gujarat region. Singh has now been posted as SP of Surendranagar.
