IMD predicts heavy rain in Gujarat from Aug 15
On August 17, heavy rainfall is expected in the districts of Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad, the IMD said.

AFTER a break, the Southwest monsoon is expected to become active, bringing heavy rainfall in several parts of Gujarat from August 15 onwards, according to the IMD.
Owing to the upper air cyclonic circulation over central parts of Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area is likely to form over westcentral and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal on August 13 and become more marked during subsequent 48 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its bulletin on Tuesday.
According to the IMD, while light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30-40 kmph accompanied with light to moderate rain is very likely across Gujarat on August 15 and 16, heavy rain is expected in the districts of Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad on August 16.
On August 17, heavy rainfall is expected in the districts of Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad, the IMD said.
“Heavy rain is very likely in the districts of Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad on August 18 and in the Saurashtra districts of Amreli, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath,” the IMD said.
