IAF team rescues 3 stranded in Sabarmati in Kheda using chopper

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday rescued three elderly persons stranded in floodwaters in Dharoda village of Kheda district in Gujarat.
“In a swift Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) mission, an IAF Mi-17 V5 helicopter rescued three elderly persons stranded in Dharoda village, following heavy flooding of the Sabarmati river,” said the Gujarat Defence spokesperson on Tuesday.

Dharoda village is located along the banks of the Sabarmati river downstream from Ahmedabad, about 33 km to the south.

Videos of the rescue showed the two men and a woman stranded on a concrete parapet built around a temple and a tree, which is a meeting point for the people. Camera footage from the helicopter shows the Air Force personnel lowering ropes to the villagers below to pull them up.
