High Court judge injured in five-vehicle collision

A Gujarat High Court judge received minor injuries when five cars slammed into each other at the Sola Bridge on Thursday. However,no major injuries were reported apart from huge damages to the cars,police said.

A Gujarat High Court judge received minor injuries when five cars slammed into each other at the Sola Bridge on Thursday. However,no major injuries were reported apart from huge damages to the cars,police said.

According to the police,High Court judge Justice R R Tripathi’s car was smashed by BJP Himmatnagar MLA Praful Patel’s vehicle,which further collided with two other cars,belonging to HC advocates. The driver of another car has not been identified as yet.

Sola police Inspector N R Chauhan,said: “We received a complaint from Justice Tripathi. The driver of the first car,who is yet to be identified,fled from the spot. No one sustained any major injury.”

Justice Tripathi,who received minor injuries,was taken to Civil Hospital in Sola. The damage to his car is estimated to be around Rs 3 lakh.This being the fifth mishap near the High Court in the last six months,government authorities will survey the area to find the reasons behind such frequent accidents,the police said.

Further investigations are on,they added.
