Gujarat to see strong surface winds until June 6: IMD

The minimum temperature in Ahmedabad was 29.4 degrees Celsius, Surendranagar 29, Surat 28.8, Porbandar 29, Gandhinagar 29.8, Bhuj 28.8, Vadodara 28.4 and Rajkot 25.9 degrees Celsius.

After a long spell of heatwave, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned against strong surface winds in Gujarat for the next four days.

Strong surface winds in the 20-25 kmph range are very likely to prevail over the region until June 6, the weather department cautioned. A cyclonic circulation over the Saurashtra region adjoining the northeast Arabian Sea, and another over southeast Rajasthan and neighbourhood persist, the IMD stated.

On Sunday, Surendranagar recorded the highest temperature of 43 degrees Celsius in the state. It was followed by Ahmedabad at 42 degrees Celsius, Gandhinagar at 41.5 degrees Celsius, Kandla Airport and Rajkot at 40.5, Deesa 39.7, Vadodara 39.4, Vallabh Vidya Nagar 39.5, Bhuj 38.8, Bhavnagar 37.5, Valsad 36.8, Surat 35.7, and Dwarka at 35.6 degrees Celsius.

The night time temperature hovered around 22 to 29 degrees Celsius across the state. The minimum temperature in Ahmedabad was 29.4 degrees Celsius, Surendranagar 29, Surat 28.8, Porbandar 29, Gandhinagar 29.8, Bhuj 28.8, Vadodara 28.4 and Rajkot 25.9 degrees Celsius.
