"Some of the 40 officers, including me, did not receive the email as they had already activated filters to send irrelevant emails to spam... We have also installed email block filters to prevent such incidents in the future," said Manish Bhatt of the IT department. Officials of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) were left surprised after receiving “objectionable” photographs on several email addresses of the civic body from an unknown sender last week. The civic body’s IT department found that the email of 40 officers of VMC had been marked on the original mail of the sender, an outsider. According to IT department officials, the email contained “morphed pornographic photographs”. VMC has submitted an application to the cyber crime police station in Vadodara and also created filters to mark such attacks as “spam”. “Some of the 40 officers, including me, did not receive the email as they had already activated filters to send irrelevant emails to spam… We have also installed email block filters to prevent such incidents in the future,” said Manish Bhatt of the IT department.
