Gujarat confidential: Lonely Walk

At the quarterly meeting of the general board of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation, Bhanu Sorani, the Leader of Opposition, demanded that there be a discussion on what she termed the prevailing atmosphere of disease in the city. However, her demand was rejected and the board took up questions asked by corporators of the ruling BJP whose priority was decided by a draw of lots. In protest, the Opposition Congress staged a walkout. However, Sorani was the lone person walking out of the meeting hall as Maqbul Daudani, the other Congress corporator, was not present at the meeting.

To celebrate the birth anniversary of its ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on September 25, the youth wing of the Gujarat BJP has organised a social media summit. The summit will be presided over by state party president C R Paatil. State youth wing president Prashant Korat, in a statement, said the party workers will be provided guidance on how to make the maximum use of social media to spread various welfare schemes of the state and Central governments to the poorest of the poor in the state.
