State BJP president CR Paatil Thursday condemned Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public meeting in Karnataka. Recalling the remarks of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi on the PM, Paatil said, “Earlier, Congress president Sonia Gandhi had used words like “maut ka saudagar” for Modiji. Her son Rahul also used phrases like “chowkidar chor hai.” Congress leaders used foul language to insult PM Modi “91 times”, he added.
“People are angry at the cheap politics of the Congress. The faith of 140 crore people of India is still with Modiji. People believe “Modi hai to mumkin hai” and an appropriate response will be given by the public in the upcoming elections,” he said.

The proposal by Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) to install air-conditioners in hostel rooms of foreign students on the campus has not gone down well with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. In a representation to Vice-Chancellor Dr KC Chawda, they pressed for installing air-conditioners in the hostel rooms of the local students as well. Currently, the university has 45 foreign students. The syndicate will discuss the proposal in the upcoming meeting scheduled on April 29. Chawda said the decision was now “up to the syndicate”. The foreign students had requested the VC to install air-conditioners as they could not spend time in the rooms due to high temperatures.
