A war of words has broken out between Vansda Congress MLA Anant Patel and Bharuch BJP MP Mansukh Vasava after Patel challenged Vasava to "prove that he was a tribal leader by installing Birsa Munda statues across villages" in his constituency. Patel's remarks came during an event unveiling the statue of Birsa Munda at Netrang in Bharuch district. "MP Mansukh Vasava simply blabbers but if he is indeed a tribal leader, he should install the Birsa Munda statues in every village of the constituency," he had said. At the event, Patel also had the villagers take a pledge to "not vote for the BJP until the last breath". Reacting to the developments, Vasava said, "I do not blabber but the Congress leaders are known for theatrics. I am the one who has raised the issue of bootlegging in the area. As far as Birsa Munda is concerned, I know more about the tribal leader than you (Patel). I will give a befitting reply."
