Gujarat: Cabinet nod for changes in some villages of new talukas

Considering people’s representation and administrative convenience, the Gujarat government has approved changes in certain villages in four of the 17 newly formed talukas in Kheda, Surat and Mahisagar districts, an official statement said on Tuesday.

The state Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, approved the decision in a meeting, the release said. It added that the taluka headquarters of the Fagvel taluka in Kheda has been changed from Kapdivav (Chikhlod) to Fagvel.

According to the release, the changes will be applicable to eight villages of Surat district, 20 villages of Mahisagar district and 11 villages of
Kheda district.

Last month, the government had announced the formation of 17 new talukas in the state. A notification in this regard would soon be issued by the district collectorates concerned to implement the changes, the release said.
