Gujarat bogus billing ‘scam’: SGST dept gets 3-day remand of accused
On December 3, the SGST Department had arrested Pragnesh Kantariya, a partner of M/s Infinity Exim for GST evasion in excess of Rs 34 crore.

The State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) department in Gujarat on Friday received three days’ remand of Pragnesh Kantariya, one of the accused in a Rs 186-crore bogus billing scam.
On December 3, the SGST Department had arrested Pragnesh Kantariya, a partner of M/s Infinity Exim for GST evasion in excess of Rs 34 crore.
This came following action by the SGST department as part of which, on November 11, search and seizure operations were conducted at 14 copper firms, including Fortune Copper Industries and Infinity Exim, in Surat, Rajkot, Bharuch, Vapi, Junagadh and Bhavnagar districts of Gujarat.
A statement on Friday said, “Kantariya was produced before the Court of Additional Metropolitan Judge for remand and the same was granted till the noon of December 9.”
