Gujarat has added nearly 4 lakh registered voters in two months, data from the State Election Commission reveals.

The new registrations were done as part of a house-to-house survey held by the commission from August 20 to November 18, 2024 under the Special Brief Reform Programme-2025 to update the electoral roll. Applications were invited for correction, deletion and addition of names in the electoral roll from October 29-November 28 as part of the process.

The period saw an addition of around 3.95 lakh voters, including 1.72 lakh males, 2.23 lakh females and 20 third gender voters. The final electoral roll of Gujarat stands at 2.58 crore males, 2.44 crore females and 1,569 third gender voters, totaling 5.03 crore voters as opposed to 4.99 crore voters published in the draft electoral roll on October 29.

However, eligible citizens still can fill the form online on Election Commission’s mobile application Voter Helpline App and website to enter, correct or delete names in the voter list.
