GSIRF Rankings: With 4.82 CGPA, Gujarat University bags top spot

As per the rankings, 16 universities — both public and private — were given five star rating and five star plus under the ‘University’ category.

According to the Gujarat State Institutional Rating Framework (GSIRF) 2024 rankings announced on Thursday, the Gujarat University with 4.82 CGPA bagged the top spot with five star plus rating, followed by three universities:  Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Nirma University and CEPT University with a five star plus rating with CGPA above 4.5.

As per the rankings, 16 universities — both public and private — were given five star rating and five star plus under the ‘University’ category.

The names were announced by Higher and Technical Education Minister Rushikesh Patel and Minister of State for Education Praful Pansheryia in Gandhinagar.

CEPT University, Nirma University, along with Gujarat University and Pandit Deendayal Energy University have, been recognised as five star plus under the rankings.

Reacting to the rankings, Prof Tridip Suhrud, Provost, said, “Earlier this year, in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), CEPT University was ranked sixth in the Architecture and Planning category. CEPT University is steadfastly committed to excellence in architecture, planning, design, technology and urban management, education and research. We are honoured to be rated as a five star plus university and top-ranked in the architecture category in the state…”

Nirma University Director General Anup K Singh said, “Our university is continuously improving its academic performance and is poised to emerge as a major national university.”

The GSIRF was launched by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG) in partnership with the Indian Centre for Academic Rankings and Excellence (ICARE) in line with the NIRF with a vision of creating world-class institutions of great eminence and excellence. The framework assesses institutions on multiple parameters, including academic quality, research output, infrastructure, employability, and community engagement.
