Addressing a public meeting as part of the Kinara Bachao Yatra in Bhavnagar on Saturday, leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil, accused the BJP government of neglecting the artisans of the state.
In his address he said the government closed training institutions for artists while opening up the states coffers for industrialists, which has led to the lack of employment opportunities for artisans and craftsmen in the state.
Gohil criticised the government for providing a relief of Rs 33,000 crore for the Tato Nano car plant, while it failed to provide support and subsidies to artisans.
Congress leader Dalsukh Prajapati said the BJP government was against backward communities, and appealed that the people overthrow the anti-people BJP government in the 2012 elections.
