Govt forms 3-tier panel to facilitate investment

The committee will meet at least once a month and serve as a single window system to grant various clearances within the stipulated period for any industrial project in the district. Another committee will be headed by Principal Secretary,Industry and Mines and will have secretaries of other departments as its members.

Next level will be called the State Level Investment Facilitation Committee (SLIFC),which will also meet once a month and review decisions of the district committees. The decisions of this committee will be binding on district level committees. The High Level Investment Facilitation Committee (HLIFC),will be headed by the Chief Minister himself and will have ministers,chief secretary and secretaries of the departments concerned as its members.

This committee will review the decisions of the state-level committee and its decisions will be binding on the state as well as district level committees. “The idea is to facilitate the proposals for setting up industrial projects in the state,” said a senior official in the Industry department. He said implementation of all MoUs signed during the Gujarat investors summits will be monitored and tracked by the respective committees at all levels.
