A Third year BA student of Navsari district, who delivered a baby Thursday night, appeared in the final exams in the college on Friday for her final paper. Sweety Patel (21) a resident of Vadsagar village in Gandevi taluka of Navsari district, after consultation with her doctors and the college authorities, was allowed to sit in a special classroom in thecollege where she wrote her last paper. She was finally discharged from the hospital with her baby, on Saturday. Sweety, married Rajnish Patel, a resident of Devdha village in Navsari district on May 16, 2014 when she was in her second year of BA in V S Patel Arts and Science college in Bilimora taluka in Navsari district. With a supportive husband and in-laws she continued her studies and was told that her baby's due date would coincide with her final exams of Third year BA. [related-post] Her husband Rajnish Patel said, “On Thursday she appeared in the second last paper of Banking and in the night she went into labour. We had already got her booked in Narendra Jamnadas Damanya hospital in Gandevi taluka of Navsari district. She was rushed to hospital and in the night our son was born.” Sweety’s father Amrat Patel who is a farmer said that he noticed that everyone in the family celebrated the birth of the baby but his daughter looked tense. “I talked to her in private and found out that she was worried about missing her last paper on Friday. I told her not to worry. I talked to her in-laws about the issue and they agreed to allow her to appear in the last paper of Economics. W took permission from the doctors and on Friday afternoon, they allowed us to take her to the college.” Sweety told this paper, “On our request, the college staffers gave us a separate room on Friday afternoon to appear in the Economics paper. Again I was taken to the hospital where doctors checked me and found me alright. The paper was well and I will definitely get around 60 percent. I plan to do another graduation with Economics major. I wanted to become teacher and teach tribal students. My husband is a civil draughtsman and he also gives me good support.” On Saturday morning, seeing her good condition after normal delivery, the Sweety was discharged from the hospital. The family members took her to the house where they all celebrated the arrival of the new member in the family.
