GAD proposes extension of JNNURM officials’ term

The services of ad hoc officials working on the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) projects under Vadodara Municipal Corporation are likely to be extended by two years with an increased pay.

The General Administration Department (GAD) of VMC has moved a proposal before the civic Standing Committee recommending to extend services of these officials till 2014 and raising their salary by Rs 3,000 to Rs 18,000 per month.

A finance officer and an information and technology officer work for Project Implementation Unit of JNNURM cell in the civic body.

“At its recent meeting,the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee of JNNURM has decided to extend the term of PIU till 2014. It has also decided to increase their monetary compensation,” the proposal states.

The committee is expected to take a call on the proposal on Friday.
