Ex-IPS officer shown the door two months after he joined BJP

Former IPS officer Jaspal Singh, who was inducted in the city BJP just two months ago,has been suspended from the party for indiscipline.

Former IPS officer Jaspal Singh, who was inducted in the city BJP just two months ago,has been suspended from the party for indiscipline.

His suspension came hours after he wrote to BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Saturday, saying that those involved in Haren Pandya’s murder should be exposed so that the party can win people’s confidence.

“Haren Pandya’s sisters even today maintain it was a political murder and point fingers at a top BJP functionary. That all 12 accused were cleared of murder charges by the High Court has only confirmed the doubts that the investigation, trial and judgment were all managed. This impression cannot be allowed to persist,” Singh wrote.

In his two-page letter to Gadkari,Singh further said,“…it becomes the duty of the top leadership to seek a fresh probe under the direct supervision of the Supreme Court.”

Talking to The Indian Express,Singh said,“The day I joined the BJP in July,I found goons sharing the same stage. I was taken back. Later,I realised I was disliked by party members in Vadodara. I was invited by MP Balkrishna Shukla and Chief Minister Narendra Modi himself had met me at his office before I joined the BJP. But I cannot compromise on certain moral issues and that is why I wrote to the top BJP functionaries in Delhi so that they are aware about the truth in Gujarat.”

Vadodara BJP president Bharat Dangar said,“Singh was not following the party discipline and so he has been suspended with immediate effect.”
