Engineers association to provide practical training to students in Gujarat

The Gujarat chapter of the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers India (ACCEI) on Saturday announced to provide practical training to civil engineering students in the state.

The Gujarat chapter of the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers India (ACCEI) on Saturday announced to provide practical training to civil engineering students in the state.

As most of the engineering institutes are reported to not have the required infrastructure for the practical training for civil engineering students,the quality of civil engineers produced by these institutes need improvement in order to be at par with industry standards,according to the body.

ACCEI Gujarat president Girish Kumar Shah told mediapersons that they had approached several colleges including government colleges in Ahmedabad to provide training and a state-of-the-art laboratory to civil engineering students from the fifth semester onwards.

He said the association would also register civil engineering students as its members at a token registration fee of Rs 100.

Alpha,Sal,PDPU and Venus engineering colleges in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar have agreed to send their students for training and also to register themselves as student-members of the association. The association is also planning to approach other colleges in the state.
