Elderly woman found murdered in Lunavada

Although jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh is missing from the house,police suspect that robbery was not the real motive,but an attempt to mislead the police. An officer,who did not wish to be named,said,“The jewellery,comprising two gold bangles weighing 35gm,has been taken. But the motive could have been a dispute. The theft might merely have been to mislead the police into believing that it was a murder for burglary.” Praffulkaurba’s blood-soaked body was found by the police in her house. She had been gagged and her head hit hard before she was strangled to death. A case of theft and murder has been registered against unidentified persons and investigation is on.
