Design for change contest now toolkit in Braille

The “Design For Change” contest for schoolchildren has begun translating its toolkit into Braille for schools with visually-challenged children to participate.

The “Design For Change” contest for schoolchildren has begun translating its toolkit into Braille for schools with visually-challenged children to participate. So far,the contest has seen participation from 24 countries. Backed by educational institutes like Riverside School and NID,the contest encourages schoolchildren to identify what they think is a problem in their neighbourhood and design any solution for it. In Gujarat,about 2000 schools have registered for the contest,Riverside School said in a release. The last date for registration is September 15. The details can be obtained from the site . The results will be announced on November 14,Children’s Day.

Movie show for underprivileged children
A city-based group working for underprivileged children,‘aProCh’,is taking 200 children from the St. Xavier’s Social Service Society,Shahpur for the screening of Lafenge Parinde on Tuesday. The group has partnered with multiplexes,corporates and citizens to sponsor films for 150 underprivileged children every month under the “Movie’ing Experience”.
