Decomposed body of girl found inside locked railways house

Decomposed body of an unidentified girl was found inside a locked house at Railway Colony in Varachha area here,police said Thursday.

According to police,Jashu Solanki,a cleaner with the Railways,had requested Area Regional Manager Raees Mirza to allot her a quarter in Railway Colony for a few days for her daughter’s marriage.

After being given permission,Solanki collected the keys to quarter number 168 Wednesday evening and went there to clean it when she realised a foul smell was coming out from the closed house. When she entered the house,she saw a decomposed body lying inside.

Solanki promptly informed the ARM who in turn called the police.

A police team along with forensic experts reached the spot and the body was sent to SMIMER hospital for post mortem.

According to police,quarter no. 168 had remained locked for the last two years. The age of the dead girl would approximately be eight to ten years,police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police M M Anarwala said,“We are talking to railway employees,especially from the engineering department who are in charge of such quarters. We believe the girl died three months ago.”
