The CBI Wednesday conducted searches in five locations across Gujarat and Rajasthan in connection with a Rs 1.48 crore worth disproportionate assets case involving a 1999-batch Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer along with others.
According to the complaint, the accused while working in Rajasthan “had acquired assets in his and his family members’ names to the tune of Rs 1,48,83,998 (Rs1.48 crore) which were disproportionate to his known sources of income during the period from January 1, 2014 to January 31, 2017”. The CBI conducted searches at five locations in Jaipur, Ajmer and Ahmedabad. During the raids, incriminating documents and Rs 2.5 lakh cash was seized from the residence of the accused in Ajmer.
