CRPF constable dies by suicide in Bhavnagar district

A newly-recruited Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable was found hanging from a ceiling fan at a primary school building at his native Moti Paniyali village in Bhavnagar district’s Palitana taluka on Monday morning.

The police said Ajay Vaghela (27) was found hanging in a room of an old building of the school. “Youth of the village, preparing for various recruitment examinations, study at the old school building. Vaghela was found dead in one of the rooms of that building,” Sub-Inspector R J Rahewar, in charge of Palitana rural police station, said.

“He was recruited to CRPF a few months ago and was undergoing induction training at a training centre in Uttar Pradesh. He had come home on leave… We have not found any suicide not so far and the cause of his extreme step is a matter of investigation,” he added.

Rahewar said that a few youth of the village found Vaghela dead in the school building. Palitana rural police has registered a case of accidental death.
