Following the couples suicide at a hotel in Jetalpur area of the city on Friday,the local police have alerted the hotel owners in the city to follow the identification process thoroughly. Police said in most cases they have found a lot of discrepancies in the entries and ID proof of the occupants. Police said that after yesterdays incident,officers at different police stations have been asked to get in touch with the hotel owners and instruct them to follow the rules. We have found that the girl had registered her wrong name in the hotel. Suspecting some foul play,some of the hotel staff had asked her name again but she had refused to do so. The matter should have been taken seriously and further cross-questioning could have prevented this incident, said an official at J P Road police station. The officials at different police stations have been asked not to take the identification process lightly. Such measures not just prevent such unfortunate incidents but they can even prevent tragedies like terror attacks. The officials who are taking care of police station in Alkapuri where maximum hotels and lodges are located have been categorically asked to convey the message to the hotel owners, said a senior official. Instructions have also been given to verify the credentials of the tenants and also the persons who buy battery-run vehicles. Earlier,these vehicles were not given importance,but now we have issued orders to get all the details of the people who buy these vehicles because the number of these vehicles is increasing considerably, said an official at Raopura police station.
