Congress for handing over of AMC hospitals to govt

Stating that the civic-run hospitals were not administrated properly leading to death of many patients and inadequate equipment, Dariapur Congress MLA Gyasuddin Shaikh has put forward a demand that the Ahmedabad Municipal Corpora-tion-run hospitals be handed over to the state government.

AMC Congress leader Dinesh Sharma has been protesting against probable appointment of V V Machhar, a GAS officer, to run one of the civic hospitals.

However, a senior civic official has denied all allegations and said they were run very well. Shaikh raised the demand in the monthly coordination meeting of MLAs and MPs with AMC officials on Saturday. Deputy municipal commissioner D H Shah said: “There is no problem in the running of the civic hospitals.
We run them as they should be.”
