As his government entered into the third year of its latest tenure, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday awarded appointment letters to around 580 newly-appointed employees of the state government during a function in Mahatma Mandir, said a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). The new employees are being recruited to departments such as Panchayat, Roads & Buildings; Urban Development and Science and Technology. “The tradition of good governance started by PM Narendra Modi is being taken forward by his government by transparent recruitments and the practice of ‘influence’ and ‘recommendations’ has stopped,” said the statement while quoting the CM. The CM also allocated 15 suction machines and 24 desilting machines to 16 municipalities in the state under the Emergency Response Sanitation Unit. He also unveiled a book — ‘Two years of Service, Determination and Dedication’— to mark the tenure of his government and the works done by it in people’s interest. Later in the day, the CM also held a dialogue with representatives of several Farmers’ Producers Organisations (FPOs) at his official residence in Gandhinagar, said an official statement. During the dialogue, the CM also appealed to the farmers to do community farming through FPOs. During the interaction, the farmers submitted representations to the CM, based on which he instructed top officials to consider developing a common facilitation at district level for certification of natural farming and for value addition in farm produce. Later in the evening, Patel also attended a function in Ahmedabad where he interacted with women startup owners and innovators. Earlier in the day, Patel also inaugurated a ‘Shramik Suvidha Kendra’ by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in Naroda for poor labourers.
