CM, Governor visit Gandhi Ashram, review work progress

The Chief Minister first visited Hriday Kunj, following which he reviewed the redevelopment work progress.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Governor Acharya Devvrat Monday visited Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and reviewed the progress of Gandhi Ashram Memorial and Precinct Development project.

The CM first visited Hriday Kunj, following which he reviewed the redevelopment work progress.

Official sources said that the CM was apprised about the progress made in the project as he visited the ongoing restoration work of Gaushala and Das Ordi on Ashram campus. Subsequently, he held a meeting with the officials during which they gave the CM a detailed presentation on the project. During the visit, Chief Secretary Raj Kumar also accompanied the CM and the Governor.

The project worth Rs1,200 crore is being funded by the central government and implemented by the Gujarat government. For the project’s implementation, the Gujarat government has also set up Mahatma Gandhi Sabarmati Ashram Memorial Trust . Chief Minister Patel is the chairperson of the nine-member governing council of the trust.
