Clerk dies while crossing Girnar stream

A clerk of a private school in Rajkot was killed after he reportedly slipped while trying to cross a stream in Girnar hills and hit his head on a rock near Junagadh on Sunday

A clerk of a private school in Rajkot was killed after he reportedly slipped while trying to cross a stream in Girnar hills and hit his head on a rock near Junagadh on Sunday. According to the police,30-year-old Sunil Vaghasia and 11 of his colleagues were out on a picnic in the hills when the incident took place.

The clerk reportedly stepped on a stone while trying to cross the stream down Jata Shankar and fell into the water near Jata Shankar Mahadev shrine,some 3 km into the forest from the Bhavnath foothills. “Vaghasia’s head hit a rock. He was rushed to a civil hospital in Junagadh,but doctors declared him dead on arrival,” Junagadh taluka police sub-inspector Jaipal Karotara said. The incident took place around 11:30 am. Junagadh police have filed a case of accidental death and started investigation.
