CII conference on corporate security held in Ahmedabad

The conference deliberated towards adopting a modern and comprehensive approach for a strong perimeter and IT security; thorough employee as well as vendor background checks; ensuring proper anti-money laundering processes; and regular training and drills for employees to proactively work towards minimising threats.

Dinesh Pillai,Head of Delivery,Mahindra Special Services Group,who was one of the lead speakers at the conference,outlined the major threats with what he called,‘the Six Forces Model’. He said,“The threat perception has increased mainly due to regional instabilities in the Indian sub-continent,organised crime,increased global competition,recessionary pressure,socio-politico-economic changes and environmental upheavals.”

On the aspect of Information Security,Vaidyanathan Iyer,Sales Leader,IBM (Information Security),said: “In today’s knowledge society,the importance of secured information can’t be under-estimated. The customer will come to a company or buy a brand only if he feels that the company or brand is secure. Identity management is the most important aspect in cyber world.”
