Setting up the stage for the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerments endeavour Badhte Kadam,city-based Kashiben Gordhandas Patel (KGP) Childrens Hospital will act as the nodal centre for 11 districts of the central and south Gujarat. The nationwide endeavour Badhte Kadam is initiated by the National Trust,an autonomous body under the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry. The government move is an awareness campaign for the rights of the patients of mental retardation,mental illness,cerebral palsy and autism. The campaign will start on November 14 and will reach Vadodara on November 20. The issue of rights which patients of mental disability should get is an important matter and during the awareness campaign,the kin of the mentally challenged will be told about them. In Gujarat,the campaign will be held in Vadodara and Ahmedabad, said Jagdish Patel,secretary of the KGP Childrens hospital.
