Suspended IPS officer Abhay Chudasama will finally bid farewell to Gujarat on Friday morning as the CBI team probing the Sohrabuddin Shiekh encounter case is shifting him to Mumbais Taloja Jail. The CBI conducted a medical test on Chudasama at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital recently,a complete report of which is not yet out. The doctors have declared him fit in the primary test results that were collected by the CBI.
A CBI officer said,Chudasama had complained of ailments that have all proved to be negative in the medical test results. However, for further confirmation,he will be checked in Mumbai. He will be lodged in Taloja Jail of Navi Mumbai along with other accused in the Sohrabuddin case.
The CBI shifted suspended SP Rajkumar Pandian,Rajasthan officer Dinesh M N and other accused in the case to Mumbai last year. Chudasama will be lodged in a separate cell close to Pandians.
When the CBI team had earlier gone to Nadiad sub-jail to take Chudasamas custody, the jail authorities had stopped the CBI from entering his cell claiming Chudasama was not well. Chudasama had filed an application in the special CBI court in August pleading that he shouldnt be shifted to Mumbai because the potholes of Mumbai may worsen his hip injury problem. His application was, however, rejected.
