Businessman shot at,robbed of Rs 75,000

A complaint in this regard has been lodged with the police by the victim’s brother,Rajesh Agrawal,a resident of Agrawal Niwas near Ramji Temple in Amraiwadi. Naresh took a bullet fired by a countrymade pistol.

According to Rajesh,the incident occurred around 10:30 am when Naresh had gone to deposit Rs 75,000 in cash at a nationalised bank in CTM area. “While my brother was about to enter the bank,two persons intercepted him and tried to snatch his bag containing the money. When my brother resisted,one of the two fired at him on the back and decamped with the money,” said Rajesh.

The police said Naresh runs a provision store in Amraiwadi area.

Inspector S R Gohil,who is investigating the case,said,”The two accused had come on a bike without a number plate and their faces were covered with handkerchieves. We have launched a manhunt.”

Meanwhile,Naresh was shifted to a private hospital where his condition is reportedly out of danger after a surgery.

Few days ago,a gang of burglars had opened fire in Paldi area,injuring an old man,who resisted the attempt to take away his two-wheeler. The police could only arrest two of the three gang members in the Paldi incident.
