BJPs Maliya Miyana unit president Musa Movar and some of his supporters have been accused of opening fire at Congress leader Sahuddin Samtani and his sons,killing one on Tuesday night. According to the Morbi police,Movar along with his supporters opened indiscriminate fire from a moving car on the Samtanis,who were also on the move in a car. One of Samtanis sons,Sabbir,died in the incident,while three others were injured. Two persons were arrested,the police said,adding that three others are at large,including main accused Movar. The police said the incident occurred when Samtani was driving back home with his two sons,Sabbir and Abbas,who were released on bail from the Morbi jail. Sabbir and Abbas are facing charges of attempt to murder Movar. When Samtanis car reached Jepur-Khahara village on the Morbi-Navlakhi highway,the Movars,who were waiting in a car,opened fire on them. When the Samtanis drove back to the Morbi city,they were followed by the Movars, said a police official. The police added that the chase continued for 10 kms and so the indiscriminate firing. Sabbir,who received 30 bullet injuries,died,while Samtani,his another son Abbas and a nephew sustained severe injuries. Sahuddin Movar,who also received two bullet injuries,including one in his neck,drove the car straight to the Morbi Civil Hospital and admitted three others injured there. He then drove to the city police station and registered a complaint. Five people were involved in the attack,including Musa,his son Ilyas,Ranmal Amad,Avesh Movar and Shermohmaad Ismali,the police said,adding that country-made pistols and a 12-inch bore revolver were used by them. Samtani and Movar are cousins. They became rivals three years ago over political dispute between Musa and Samtanis brother-in-law,who was the vice-president of Maliya Miyana taluka panchayat. Samtani was the then president of taluka panchayat. Three months ago,Samtaniss sons had allegedly tried to kill Musa.
