The BJP is confident of winning Gandhinagar by a margin of 10 lakh votes, party leader Rushikesh Patel said on Wednesday. Union Home and Cooperation Minister and Gandhinagar MP Amit Shah is set to contest from the same seat again in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Rushikesh Patel, who is also a state minister, made the remarks while launching the BJP’s campaign, ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Patra – Modi ki Guarantee’, to seek people’s suggestions for the Lok Sabha elections manifesto of the party.
“Like the target at centre level is of winning 400+ seats, here in Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency… it is the expectation of all the BJP workers and even the people to win the seat by a lead of more than 10 lakh votes…We will definitely achieve the target of winning by more than 10 lakh votes,” he said.
Patel said that in the last five years, developmental works worth more than Rs 23,000 crore have either been inaugurated or their foundation stones have been laid by Amit Shah.
Replying to a question on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi entering Gujarat to lead the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on Thursday, Patel said, “Rahul should carry out Congress Jodo Yatra.”
