BJP MLA from Godhra, C K Raulji, who was on the Jail Advisory Committee that ruled in favour of remission for the 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano gangrape case, said on Monday that he cannot comment on the Supreme Court judgment – directing the 11 convicts to surrender in two weeks – till he reads it.
Raulji, who had earlier referred to the released convicts as “Brahmins with good sanskar”, told The Indian Express: “It is a court matter. I cannot comment on it till I study the court order.”
Pravin Togadia, a leader of Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad, who arrived at Kalol in Panchmahal on Monday, said they will look at legal remedy
for the convicts following the SC order.
“We pray that everyone should get justice in this country… We pray that the Hindu brethren should receive justice and be protected… We will look at available legal remedy (for the convicts),” he added.
