4 years of Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel: Jobs to 5 lakh people; Over 10 L sq mts of land cleared of encroachments, among achievements

In the last four years, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat government has provided employment to over 5.06 lakh people through 6,547 job fairs, said an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, on Friday.

“On 13th September 2025, the Chief Minister completes four years of dedicated service. His tenure has been defined by service, good governance, industrial growth, and decisive policymaking,” the statement read.

Highlighting features of CM Patel’s four-year tenure, under the head “4 Years of Duty and Determination”, the statement mentioned a number of points with one of them stating, “In the last four years, the state government has provided employment to 5,06,741 people through 6,547 job fairs.”

The statement also featured some “people-centric” decisions of the government under CM Patel that include removal of illegal encroachments around Chandola Lake and in Dwarka and Somnath, and strict action against officers “involved in malpractice”.

The statement read, “Over the past four years, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has exemplified decisive and strong leadership. Under his guidance, illegal encroachments at Chandola Lake in Ahmedabad were removed, reopening an area of 4 lakh square meters for public use.

Similar actions at Dwarka and Somnath cleared approximately 1.54 lakh square meters and 4.79 lakh square meters of land.”

It further said, “The CM has consistently pursued a policy of zero tolerance against corruption, taking strict action against officials involved in malpractice… strict action has been taken against around 50 government officials who were involved in corruption…”

The statement also underlined a number of other key aspects of the tenure such as construction of more than 15 lakh houses, launch of 35-Day Care Chemotherapy Centres, establishment of Gujarat State Institution for Transformation (GRIT) based on the pattern of NITI Aayog, establishing nine new municipal corporations, taking their total number in the state to 17, recognition of Garba as the “Intangible Cultural Heritage” by UNESCO and declaration of Dhordo village of Kutch as “Best Tourism Village” by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation etc.

The statement also credited CM Patel for introducing 16 “sector-specific” and “forward-looking” policies, paving the way for futuristic industries in the state like Gujarat Biotechnology Policy, Gujarat Semiconductor Policy, Cinematic Tourism Policy, Gujarat Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy, Gujarat Green Hydrogen Policy, Gujarat Renewable Energy Policy, Student Start-ups and Innovation Policy, Drone Promotion, and Usage Policy, among others.
