Gujarat Congress president Shaktisinh Gohil said on Wednesday that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Nyaya Yatra will pass through Gujarat and 13 other states.

Addressing mediapersons in Ahmedabad, Gohil said that the yatra will start from Manipur on January 14 and conclude in Mumbai on March 20.

“After the unprecedented success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Bharat Nyaya Yatra will be organised under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. The 6,200-km long yatra will pass through 14 states. It will start from Manipur and pass through Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.”

“The yatra will be launched to curb the growing economic inequality, social polarisation and to seek inclusive politics in the country. It will be organised for the people of India to get economic, social and political justice,” he added.

Asked about onion farmers facing issues after ban on exports, Gohil said that while the Union government talks about doubling the income of farmers, “its anti-farmer policy has halved farmers’ income and doubled their expenditure”.

“The Congress is fighting at the local level to get justice for the farmers cultivating onion. The Union government should lift the export ban immediately so that the farmers get adequate prices,” he added.
