The G B Solanki-led Congress rebel faction contesting the elections to the board of Baroda dairy failed to come to any conclusion on the last day of filing candidature. And so,the party panel led by Ajitsinh Thakore had no option but to submit their nomination papers. With this,53 candidates,including Thakore and two other members of the board,submitted their forms to returning officer K M Shah. The scrutiny of the forms will be done tomorrow and the last day of the withdrawal of the forms will be October 1. The final list of the candidates will be out on October 2, said Shah,adding that the total number of the voters will be 1,092. The representatives of Dudh Mandalis (village-level milk societies) will the elect 15-member board on October 12 and the board will in turn elect its chairman. The election assumes importance for both the parties as this will be the third dairy election this year. In the last two elections held for Amul Dairy in Kheda and Madhur Dairy in Gandhinagar,the Congress panels emerged victorious.
